Re: A Blue Jupiter

Hi Anthony,

>Do you mind if I ask what exposure time you used per frame, and what filters you were using? This info would help me determine if this camera is suited to my setup

The frame rate was 17fps using a B (450-350nm) filter.

Thats an excellent shot for a now fast shrinking Jupiter. Oval BA and the SSTC ovals are very well defined.

Hi Wes,

Thats a nice shot, and shows that small interesting oval ahead of the GRS. This small feature will fall into the GRS hollow in about a month if its montion continues - a shame it wasnt sooner as by then Jupiter will be too low for good enough resolution...in fact to low for some years to come :C

Hi Wes,

A lovely shot and nicely processed. I have a feeling that this apparition is going to to be the best and most productive ever.

I also am looking forward to seeing everyones work in the coming months...

Lovely shots Paul. The post GRS area with its white clouds looks great.

Thats an excellent image. Even more so considering the Moon must have been ~35d high.

Two views of Walter

Hi Wes,

Great shots recently. I like the ISS image - very cool 8). Hand guiding and managing a decent image takes some serious patience. The Walter images are very detailed. The lower EFL has much better composition, but the higher EFL certainly shows finer detail. I think the only answer with big scopes to get the most from them on both counts with Lunar work is mosiacs...that is until a Lumenera appears with a 35mm chip wink

Thats a nice image Jan - especially for the aperture. You were out over an hour earlier than me...

Hi Richard,

Thats a very fine image with excellent resolution. I also had that same problem. Some of the lunar images i did recently were aligned on several points for best effect - it really makes a difference.
