website help

Posted By Martin Collins

Can anyone direct me to a web site on North American birds with photo's on the one or a couple of pages rather than an individual link for each bird. I am trying to see what kind of birds are coming to my backyard in the midwest
Thanks to all

Anyone have any experience with the Siebert 1.39 Multimag?
I have a 14.5" f4.3 reflector and a binoviewer that I want to add a little more variety and was looking very closely at this

Thank You Astromart

Posted By Martin Collins

I just wanted to thank Herb and all the people associated with Astromart for such a great site. Not only have I learned a lot, I have also made quite a few new friends. I just became a 3 month supporter and wish I could have done more but a recent layoff and with Christmas presents for my family has prevented me from doing so. I do know that all my new purchases for telescopes or equpment are and will be made at ATWB because of this site.
I wish one and all a Very Merry Christmas and hope Santa is good to all

older feathertouch focusers

Posted By Martin Collins

Just a note for everyone who has the Older style feathertouch focuser with set screws. Starlight instruments will re-machine your older 2 " drawtube for fitting a compression ring. Have to send it to them $55 plus $10 for shipping

A little prayer, 9-11

Posted By Martin Collins

Father in heaven, I ask forgiveness of not my sins but the sins of all who perished or were injured, To all the survivors and to all the loved ones left behind in the 9-11 attacks,. I ask you to take them into your arms and comfort them. I ask you this in the name of your son, Lord Jesus Christ.
Even though it has been 5 years, it instills images in my mind that most likely will last for a long time.
Just had to get this off my chest.

My new dob

Posted By Martin Collins

Here is a pic of my Intes MN-76 grin that I finally completed,I had my dob base built by First base and I am very pleased with his craftsmanship,Fit and finish are first rate.
I also added some things to the exterior but kept in mind that I still wanted a foldable dob base so everything went into brass threaded wood inserts and thumb screws.
I made the split blocks for the stalk ,everything looks great.
As for first light it has been raining here for the last 4 days with 2 to 3 more days predicted so it will be awhile
