Posted By Sam Pitts

Thought I would post one of my new images I finally got to process with an Orion ED80 & Televue .8 reducer 480mm f/6 (ED80 600mm f/7.5). This scope seems to do well with the ST8 and G11 Mount.

SBIG ST8XME
LRGB L-5x10,R-5x6,G-5x6,B-5x9
Used CCDSoft, AIP4Win & Photoshop CS2

M13 with 20D

Posted By Sam Pitts

This is my first attempt at prime focus photography with the 20d (unmodified). The image is a combination of 8 x 5 minute at ISO 800 with 4 darks. I used Photoshop CS2, AIP4WIN 2.0 and Picture Window Pro for post processing.

First Light ST10XME

Posted By Sam Pitts

Finally got out to use my new ST10xme. Took a shot of NGC 253 with TEC 140 at prime. LRGB 90,30,30,30. I'm pleased with this cameras performance, although the cooler is not a efficient as my ST8xme was, but close.

Backyard Image M51

Posted By Sam Pitts

I tried to image from my backyard with normal in-city light pollution and magnitude 4.5-5 skies. The results are not bad, not as good as a dark sky site. This will help me get out and image more often since it is a lot easier to setup in my back yard versus a remote dark sky site.

LEO Triplet

Posted By Sam Pitts

I have been waiting to image this group for a couple years, weather here in Oregon (Eugene) just isn’t favorable in winter or early spring for astronomy. I was able to get out for a partial night in late May; high humidity shut me down by 2:00. :C

TEC 140 f/7, ST10XME LRGB (120, 15, 15, 15) 5-minute exposures -20 degrees.

I would have liked another 60-120 minutes of exposure time. smile
