If you don't care then why comment about it?Originally Posted by Richard Davis
2 things to remark about the poll.
1. Who cares? Certainly I don't.
2. The idiot who wrote the article contradicts his percentages in the very first paragraph.
42% of voters say history will remember President Donald Trump as one of the worst presidents ever. An additional 8% say he will be remembered as below average, while 22% say one of the greatest, 16% say above average and 10% say below average.
So then here's the simple question.
Did 10% say he was below average or 8% say he was below average?

Cool! I saw them with binoculars this evening but they're very low in the horizon and I'll take out my 16" on Monday and try to pick them up in twilight before they drop behind a ridge. I've got a couple of masked neighbors coming over to see them, too.Originally Posted by James Brown
Hi Rich, I hadn't noticed. The thought crossed my mind as I was freezing my butt off this evening that just about everyone here is willing to be friends. People like James and Jim M. and Rod are great guys, who happen to have a different take on politics than you or me. We all have a lot in common.
Speaking of which, tomorrow is the big day. The closest Saturn/Jupiter conjunction in several centuries. I am stoked to see something in the night sky that has never been seen before by any living man. Pretty cool.
Here is a rough draft - taken an hour ago, no processing. I think I need to cut the exposure time down a hair because of elongation, although this is only at 1 second. Taken through my small refractor with a Cannon DSLR. No tracking.

That's great, Jim. Same here for the seeing. I tracked them for the better part of an hour before they set behind a ridge near my home. Had several neighbors wowing over the views...Originally Posted by James Brown
The seeing was much better tonight. Here is a close up taken with my 180 mm refractor.

Well, considering the last time they were that close was 800 years ago and the next time they'll be that close will be 60 years from now, I think we did ok....Originally Posted by James Brown
I thought they would look closer too. The separation today was 6 arcminutes (1/10 of a degree). I read somewhere today that 1/10 degree is about the width of a dime held edgewise at arms length. J
