m16 unfiltered. Nexstar 11GPS @ f/7 expsures are 16x 20 sec. Genesis CCD camera (kaf-0401e class 0 chip) binned 2x2. I think I'm getting the hang of ccd pretty quickly; sbig st-2000xm will be here in a few days. comments appreciated.

if anyone's awake, there's a faint aurora coming and going. tough through the moonlight, but it's there...keep an eye out==I can see it at 40 deg north, really tough. 2:00 AM EDT.

we'll I finally had a chance to sit down and try to take a serious image with the new camera. This is a mosaic of a whole bunch of shots through a Celstron 11" SCT. Resolution GREATLY reduced, this thing would be absolutely huge at even half resolution!!!!

i may have overdone it a bit, I did the processing on my laptop and haven't been able to check it on a real computer display yet. i will readjust as necessary. I re-mosaiced using slightly higher res images, and did a better job smoothing the joints. Then applied some unsharp masking and then re-tweaked the brightness/contrast. finally, I filled in the empty spots in the black background. may be a little dim yet.
