Hi Eric,

Great Jupiter for being so low in the sky. I guess us guys up north won't have the views this year everyone in the south will be getting.

Clear skies,

Ed Roach

Hi Eric,

Congatulations on your new site, I already saved it under Favorites. I'm sure you have many more great images to add to it.

Clear skies,

Hi Damian,

Another stunning Saturn image from you. Your processing is always top notch(can you give me your secrets wink ). Good seeing for me seems to be coming about once a month also, in the Northeastern U.S.

Clear & steady skies,

Ed Roach

Saturn: February 15, 2005

Hi all,

I've been having poor seeing conditions the last two weeks and they are still here. But during one of the avi's I took on Feb. 15 the seeing steadied enough to process a usable image, at least for me. It's not the best image, but it's all I have.

Hi Damian,

That's the kind of image I'm hoping to get with my 8", if it's even possible. I wish I could sit down with some of the planetary & lunar specialists in this group to see how you guys process images. smile
Thanks for posting.

Hi Damian,

Glad to see what your 9.25 can do with the Moon. I hope I can even get half that resolution with my 8".

Clear skies,

My first Jupiter of 2005

Posted By Edward Roach

Hi all,

I had a decent night of seeing tonight. I decided to try Jupiter and this is the first image I processed from 15 avi's. Temperature was about 10 degrees fahrenheit so I didn't stay out too long. sad
This is one of my better images of Jupiter, I just wish it was a little higher in the sky. Jupiter was about 38 degrees high when I imaged it.

Saturn same night as Jupiter

Posted By Edward Roach

Hi all,

I took two avi's of Saturn before I decided to try for Jupiter. This is from the first one. This was also the first night I tried out the "Color Optimized" mode for the ToUcam and it seems to work very well.

Hi Eric,

Thanks for the tables. I guess I better get a good Jupiter image in this spring or I'll have to wait a few years. I can always move to southern Florida though 8) .

Saturn: March, 10, 2005

Posted By Edward Roach

Hi all,

I imaged Saturn last night in less than ideal conditions. The seeing conditions were forecast to be good but the good conditions never arrived as usual. I guess this image will have to do. I combined two 5 minute avi's to increase the number of usable frames.
