26mm Nagler Nickname?

Posted By Bill Byrd

Okay, if the 31mm Nagler is affectionately refered to as the "TermiNagler" or the "Holy Handgrenade", what shall we call the new 26mm Nagler? "Almost TermiNagler" just doesn't sound right. "Holy Bank Account Buster" might be appropriate.

Seriously, I've **gotta** have the 26mm! It fits very well with my aging pupils that only open to about 5-5.5mm when dark adapted. The 31mm would only give me a little more field of view and I'd be wasting some light. With the 26mm, I'll get all of the light and only a little less FOV. Now I've just gotta scrape up enough cash to get one when they are released.

26mm Nagler- Needs Visual Paracorr?

Posted By Bill Byrd

I'm planning to acquire a 26mm Nag when they become available. Already sold the 35mm Pan and the 22mm Nag will go away once the 26mm is added to the arsenal. The 31mm needs the Visual PC to avoid vignetting. Anyone know if the 26mm can be used in the regular tunable top PC without vignetting? Or do I have to plan on buying the visual PC??
Thanks!

I have a Losmandy DSC computer on a Losmandy mount. It's a Sky Commander box. I want to use the computer on a dob telescope. Any hints on where to buy encoders so that I can do this?

26mm Nag Pre-Buy

Posted By Bill Byrd

Okay, how many of you have pre-bought the above? As in you're on a list to get one as soon as they are available. I've never done such a thing and don't know that I will now, but what dealers are recommended for this type of commitment? Should I just give Herb a call? I trust Anacortes for sure. Any time frame for delivery nore detailed than "July-August"?
Thanks!

Nagler 26mm Views?

Posted By Bill Byrd

They are on the way to the dealers. Anyone seen one? Anyone seen through one they bought? Just curious 'cause I know I'm gonna be buying one as soon as I can scrape together the cash.

Cost Per Inch Of Aperture

Posted By Bill Byrd

7" Teleport just listed for $3,000.00 USD. $429.00 (approx) per inch of aperture. Looking at an 18" StarMaster (only because that's what I'd buy if I won the lottery ), gives a cost per inch of aperture of about $333.00. What's the best scope in terms of CPIA? What's an average CPIA figure? Just a thought process.
