Re: Thanks Obama

Posted By david elosser

My take on this issue-
I think partial-birth abortion, which Obama is in favor of, has touched a hot button with many people. Even people who support abortion often draw the line at partial-birth or late term abortions. Whereas the extremeist pro-abortion crowd is not willing to make any concessions, that is, abortion should be allowed under any circumstances, the conservative pro-life crowd frequently believes that abortions could be performed under certain circumstances. President Regan's stand on abortion was like that. I believe it is this "all or nothing" stand like the one Obama takes that turns off many pro-abortion people who believe that there should still be some restrictions with abortions. If the left is not willing to concede that abortions should be avoided under certain circumstances, I think some pro-abortion'ers may be rethinking their positions on this issue.

Oh the wonderful irony...

"The new [post-bankruptcy Chrysler] would be owned by a [auto-workers] union healthcare trust, the US government and Italy’s Fiat."

"...the Indiana State Teachers’ Retirement Fund said on Wednesday that it had a fiduciary responsibility to its members to continue the fight. The fund stands to lose $4.6m under the current settlement proposal..."

This is incredible. Who could have predicted something like this last November? Obama is taking retirement fund money from teachers and giving it to auto union bosses to shore up their workers funds. And never mind that this is illegal and quite possibility unconstitutional. The brilliant writers of the hit TV show "24" couldn't have made this one up! Sorry teachers, but elections have consequenses and you're goin' to have to suffer under Obama's wealth redistribution plans just like the rest of us. wink

Uh huh. Uh huh.

"Evidence appears to be mounting that the Obama administration has systematically targeted for closing Chrysler dealers who contributed to Repubicans. What started earlier this week as mainly a rumbling on the Right side of the Blogosphere has gathered some steam today with revelations that among the dealers being shut down are a GOP congressman and closing of competitors to a dealership chain partly owned by former Clinton White House chief of staff Mack McLarty."

"A lawyer representing a group of Chrysler dealers who are on the hit list... told Reuters that he believes the closings have been forced on the company by the White House."

"'It became clear to us that Chrysler does not see the wisdom of terminating 25 percent of its dealers. It really wasn't Chrysler's decision. They are under enormous pressure from the President's automotive task force,' said attorney Leonard Bellavia."

"Many dealers contend the criteria being used to determine which dealerships survive is not clear and that many of those that are being closed in fact are profitable businesses, despite the current recession."

There's a madness to his method.

Geithner laughed at in China

Posted By david elosser

"'Chinese assets are very safe,' Geithner said in response to a question after a speech at Peking University, where he studied Chinese as a student in the 1980s.

His answer drew loud laughter from his student audience, reflecting skepticism in China about the wisdom of a developing country accumulating a vast stockpile of foreign reserves instead of spending the money to raise living standards at home."

You're on the hook

Posted By david elosser

"Taxpayers are on the hook for an extra $55,000 a household to cover rising federal commitments made just in the past year for retirement benefits, the national debt and other government promises, a USA TODAY analysis shows."

"The latest increase raises federal obligations to a record $546,668 per household in 2008, according to the USA TODAY analysis. That's quadruple what the average U.S. household owes for all mortgages, car loans, credit cards and other debt combined."

From:

And Obama just quadrupled that this year. Feel better now? wink

...me referring to our president as President Hussein Obama, turns out he's rather proud of his Muslim roots after all.

"Since the election,... with the threat (sic) of [Obama's Muslim faith] rumors at least somewhat abated, the White House has been increasingly forthcoming about the president's roots. Especially when reaching out to the Muslim world."

I find this a bit ironic...

Posted By david elosser

I guess we can't use EIT's on dispicable terrorists to obtain information, but we can taser our own citizens's just to get DNA evidence? Now I'm not arguing that the jerk didn't get what was coming to him. I just find it interesting that a judge ruled that a US citizen can have pain and suffering inflicted on him for the purpose of collecting evidence. It's not really torture, is it? I mean, the police needed to know somthing, he refused, and they tasered him. Didn't knock him down, handcuff him like I see all the time on the cops shows on TV. They put some real hurt on this guy.

Re: Blocked by Obama

Now Jim, this White House Visitor List is a crisis that President Hussein Obama inherited from the Bush administration. President Hussein Obama has only been in office for 100 days, how can you expect him to correct so serious a problem in so little time? We need to give him a chance Jim, give him more time. And certainly as predicted the problem of anonymous visitation to the White House will get worse before it gets better. Besides, Congress defunded his Transparancy Policy, citing a lack of coherent planning on Obama's part. Clearly there is as yet no exit strategy for publishing these names. I'm sure he'll find a tax cheat somewhere to work on this problem.

Chicago thuggery

Posted By david elosser

Remember the volcanic eruption from the Democrats when President Bush fired a handfull of Federal judges?

"The bottom line is that the AmeriCorps [Inspector General] accused a prominent Obama supporter of misusing AmeriCorps grant money. After an investigation, the prominent Obama supporter had to pay back more than $400,000 of that grant money. And Obama fired the AmeriCorps [Inspector General]."

From:

Now, I wonder, are the Democrats going to hold Senate hearings on this matter? Are they going to call up the Attorney General and grill him in front of the national media? Is Greg Craig covering for the President? Was Kevin Johnson ever on steriods? What role did Scooter Libby play in all this?

The big irony is, President Hussein Obama co-sponsered the "Inspectors General Reform Act" while he was senator. Looks like he may be guilty of breaking a law he helped to write. grin
