Re: New health care bill and patients like this?

Posted By James McSheehy

Pol Pot and his revolutionaries came up with a catchy phrase:

"To keep you is no benefit, to destroy you is no loss"

I suspect we might see something similar hanging on the walls of government clinics, in Spanish and English of course, right next to the portrait of Obama. 8)

SNL has gone rogue

Someone at GE is not going to be happy about this skit:

I'm glad to see SNL is finally off the reservation, enough is enough grin

Not even a king or emperor visible in this latest gaff:

Low self esteem? Generally clueless?

Dear Mr. President, grow a pair.

Re: Pelosi: okay to increase deficit

Posted By James McSheehy

What is the matter with you? I thought everyone knew the best way to get out of debt is to borrow more money! Speaker Pelosi is trying to educate people who may have missed that along the way in school. Get with the program mister!

On the front lines of global warming

President Obama is moving the White House to the forefront of energy efficiency and the fight against AGW. All of the light bulbs will be changed to CFL types, but there is a problem that could delay the project indefinitely. Seems Mr. Obama inserts the new CFL bulb in the socket and then waits for the world to revolve around him. 8)

The invisible hand -- LOL

Posted By James McSheehy

President Obama said today that the bailouts to General Motors and Chrysler would probably cost taxpayers $30 billion. In effect they received $30B gratis, just for being failures. These companies sell vehicles, and we can do some simple calculations. Divide the $30B loss by the number of cars they expect to sell in 2009, about 3 million, and you get a subsidy equal to $100,000 per vehicle!

I don't think this is the same "invisible hand" Adam Smith had in mind. 8)

Cook this data

Here is an interesting graph of sunspot activity, real counts vs. predicted through November 2009. Something is obviously out of sync as we enter 2010 and it looks like we will have much lower activity than predictions based on the average of previous cycles.

Care to predict what this lack of solar activity will do to ocean temperatures here on Earth? If I were running the Weather Channel, I'd save a ton of money by laying off all the hurricane experts right now.

Evrything old is new again

"We can safely say that we are no longer facing the potential collapse of our financial system and we’ve avoided the depression many feared. Our economy is growing for the first time in a year -- and the swing from contraction to expansion since the beginning of the year is the largest in nearly three decades.”
-President Obama 12-8-2009

The reality of course is that nothing has changed structurally to justify Obama's rosy outlook for the economy from where we were at this time last year. Yes the federal government has borrowed and spent trillions of dollars, but the underlying problems are unchanged. Politicians who supported this charade need to face the polls and/or justice. 8)

Hey kids, look what the feds are planning for you!

This is possibly the most disturbing document I've ever seen:

To be fair, the study was commissioned by the Bush administration, but it's come to light under Obama's watch. It basically outlines a way for the National Command Authority to ignore the Constitution, end-run Posse Comitatus, and the need to officially declare martial law.

Delicious Irony

A freak late Spring snowstorm in Australia, record low temperatures in the U.S., and this at COP15:

Snow on the deflated expectations of smarmy politicians and their paid legal and scientific "help". Couldn't have happened to nicer people. 8)
