Re: Wacko Obama floats plans

The Obama Administration is floating all types of wacko lefty ideas like taxing based on the number of miles driven instead of the number of gallons purchased. After floating a lib or socialist proposal they listen to the noise so that they can determine which ways they can limit freedoms, implement their socialist agenda or slime in a liberal policy with the minimum of notice by the public. That was the real purpose of the trillion dollar spending spree - slide in as much spending on lib programs without allowing elected representatives to even read what they were voting on.

Here is just one example of where the slime ball has had to back down from what his representative previously floated:

Tax the gas. I drive vehicles that get better than 20 miles to the gallon, I'll be damned if I am going to pay for some shallow, ingnorant, bedroom insignifigence compensating lemming to drive a Hummer to the convenience store to buy milk.

Re: And now the tax increases

Democrats have long been appropriately known as the tax and spend party. They have worked hard to earn that title. Obama could not let Bush take that away, so in his first month in office he had to spend trillions just to keep up. And now he is about to fulfill the second part of the reputation. According to this article he is about to significantly increase taxes.

Does raising taxes during what many Democrats call the worst economy since the depression sound like a good idea to anyone?

I guess he is more interested in keeping the tax and spend banner than doing what is right for the economy and the country.

I am willing to make sacrifices for my country. I would gladdly pay higher taxes if it means the future generations (including your children) will not be saddled by the debt left to them by Bush, Bush, and Reagan.

How bad and quickly can Obama and his policies damage this country?

Read the Russian perspective of our future (which Obama is responsible for):

Only partisan extremist liberals in this country believe that Obama is doing a good job. Of course Russia, China, terrorists and others love Obama, he is destroying America and providing them with great opportunities.

Sweet! Colapse by 2010? Maybe the power plants will all shut down so we can have nice dark skies!

Re: Debate

For some liberals, debate is not an option because they would rather spew their crap as true and expect everyone else should just be silent. Why because liberals think that they know everything and if they do not believe it, it must be wrong. Obama refusing to debate Rush because Obama is a wimpy little chicken who is afraid that he would get his butt kicked is one example. Here is another:

“I don’t mean to corner you, or maybe I do mean to corner you, but would you be willing to have a debate with me on that point?” asked the polo-shirt wearing Dane.

“I want to be polite to you,” Mr. Gore responded. But, no. “The scientific community has gone through this chapter and verse. We have long since passed the time when we should pretend this is a ‘on the one hand, on the other hand’ issue,” he said. “It’s not a matter of theory or conjecture, for goodness sake,” he added.

Sound familiar?

Orion Skyview Deluxe

Posted By Tony Aguire

I picked up an Orion Skyview Deluxe today, in excellent, very lightly used condition. It seems to be the newer version as the setting circle pointers are painted versus stickers. I am thinking of using this for wide field with my WO SD66. I have already mounted the 66 with Losmandy rings, any suggestions to improve this little mount (besides replacing the aluminum legs)?

On edit, BTW I paid $28 for it at the local Goodwill.... grin

JD...Rest in Peace

Posted By Tony Aguire

Some of you might remember my wife and I adopting JD (a 6 month old 3 legged Pit Bull/Chow Cow mix) a year and a half ago. The good little fellow passed away yesterday after an unfortunate attempt to investigate a bee hive. He was an amazing dog, a true fighter, and one of the most dilligent rabbit chasers I have ever encountered....

Mirror thickness...

Posted By Tony Aguire

I am comimg up with a center thickness on this mirror to be roughly 1.15 inches thick, not being an expert on mirrors, can someone tell me how that impacts overall rigidity and overall optical performance given the 32 inch diameter? Or is that thickness ok ?(Or did I miscalculate? I did the numbers in my head).
