Better webcam choice?

Posted By Tan Wei Leong

Kevin,

From the images they seems to be very good for a start.
I am sure if you continue to image with your existing equipment you will get better as it goes along. I've seen good planetary images using the 3COM home connect as well.

Saturn through a webcam

Posted By Tan Wei Leong

Mike,

The color can be a little better, which webcam did you use? I think the auto-color balance should work fine.
Also I noticed that the image shows sign of too large radius in unsharp mask, you might like to reduce that.

Saturn 2/28/03

Joe,
Nice single shot. Color balance is good too. Saturn must be low when you took this shot judging from the color shift.

Pig roast Jupiter!

Posted By Tan Wei Leong

Angel,

This is a good shot. The skies must be very clear judging from the color and tone.

However did you notice that your image is left-right inverted? Did you by chance use registax to process your images and then save the stack image in FITS format? I found that will give you left-right inverted images.

The SEB disturbance preceding the GRS and the dark streak south of the GRS has amazing details on this shot. I observed jupiter visually last night and this image does match pretty well with what I've observed.

First Jupiter image with Toucam

Posted By Tan Wei Leong

Larry,

Seems a little blurr, is the collimation good?
One more trick is to adjust the toucam so that jupiter is horizontal with the frame.

Another Jupiter Large

Wes,

This is a good shot. See the details in the belts? Part of the NTrB is visible in your image too.

Any photographic data on the image?

Good work!
