Observing under Acropolis - GreecePosted By panayotis kazasidis |
Hello,
this is my observing set up (I made a beter set up for observening but I hadn't photographed it, with the 4" mak-cas piggy backed to the 6" newtonian) I have on my rooftop under the ancient rock of Acropolis at Athens-Greece. As you can understand the light pollution is at high levels, but after 2
o at night most of the lights at Acropolis are shuted down, so it is a litle bit better. I can say that with my 6" f/5 newtonian (skywatcher) I am able to see from there some DSO as eskimo nebula, m57, m27, m42 (this is easy...), m81,82 and I have almost all the ecliptic (including low at east but not to good west) in my field of view. My equipment is a 6" f/5 newtonian, a 4" f/13 mak-cas (both these from skywatcher), and the litle bresser skylux 70 700mm f/10, all these are easyly mounted on a HEQ5 pro on a homemade steel permanent pier (I will make a bigger one beqause it is to thin, 10cm diametre ). I also have the LE eyepice series from skywatcer, 13mm and 5mm Hyperion, UHC astronomik filter, astrosolar filter and some photographic as an old pentax asahi, 55mm and 200mm lenses, a philips toucam and general adapters. My purpuse is to buy a 9.25 SC celestron ota and a ccd to do some work from light polluted Athens, where film is usless...
Clear skies to everyone,
