TV 40mm Wide Field

Posted By Victor Hall

I believe all of the Televue Wide Fields were 65 degree apparent FOV.Eye relief was quite large on the 40 probably 20+.One huge chunk of glass the weight was over 2 pounds.Great eyepiece it was discontinued with the introduction of the Panoptics.

Modify an AP 6" Superplanetary?

Posted By Victor Hall

Perhaps you can drill and tap for new larger set screws.Or call AP for their advice.I'm almost sure they will retrofit a new focuser.Seems to me it would add value to the scope.

Wide Field EP Recommendations for Sk90?

Posted By Victor Hall

Focal lengths are close Pronto is 476 Sky90 is 504.I think
eyepiece weight and scope balance would be my only concern.
The Pan 24 seems like a great choice for this scope.Over 3 degree field and still light enough not to cause balance problems.Just an opinion since I've not had the chance to use either.Of course you could go for the 31 Terminagler but it might weigh more than the scope.-Vic

Nagler 13mm type 2

Posted By Victor Hall

The only difference between the 1 and 2 is the 2 has the grip ring and eyecup. The 1 is smooth sided and flat on top with no eyecup. In fact I don't think there was any offical
type 1&2.I've seen both on Astromart in the $200 to $250 range depending on condition.
