Is picture of the day gone?

It's still on the home page! Many users go directly to the classifieds.I agree it would be nice to have it on every page.

Troubleshooting a DMD-1 controller

Posted By Victor Hall

Try calling Celestron and talk to someone in tech support.According to an old S.A.A. thread(1999) someone else with problems was sent a schematic by Celestron. They did not have any parts but were able to provide a schematic. The party in question was able to find the part he needed somewhere else.Teletrade(listed on Astromart sponser page)is a good source for parts.Good luck!

Circle T and other markings on oculars

Posted By Victor Hall

Circle T is Kokusai Kohki in Japan who exports the University Optics ortho's.They also sell the widescan type III's.
I read in an old SAA post the owner of UO said the eyepieces were made at a factory called Tanny which makes more sense.Perhaps Kokusai Kohki bought them.

ARO Maksutov-Cassegrain Telescopes

Posted By Victor Hall

Go here and do a search on ARO Telescopes. The first hit is a thread explaining the maker of these scopes and the origin of the optics.Click on view thread to see the whole thread.Looks like it might be a pretty good scope!

Older style EP price ?

Posted By Victor Hall

The first 13mm Nagler brochure of 1980 lists a cost of $250.00 plus shipping.Check out
I've seen them used from $150 to $300 depending on condition and of course the all important box!I believe when they were discontinued in the late 90's they sold for $395.By then they had added a grip ring and eyecup.
