Congrats to Ohio State

Thanks. It was a hard fought season with a perfect ending!
The game ended about 1 am. I didn't go to sleep until 4:30. I was a little keyed up.

I'm leaving Raleign, NC early sunday morning (4:30) spending the night with friends in Orlando, Fl. Leaving Orlando early Sunday morning.
I'm with you and this cold. Very tired of it. My son lives in Portsmouth, Va he tells me you guy got hit by an ice storm yesterday. That will sure make you want to head south.

Filter Questions??

Posted By Bill Webster

John
The H-beta filter will work on the horse head and the California nebula ngc1499 but that is about it for the h-beta. The O-III or UHC are a much better choice for viewing faint nebula. They cover a wide range of objects.
Try any of the messier nebulas m1 the crab, m27 the dumbell, m57 the ring, m76 the little dumbell, m97 the owl, ngc40, ngc6543 the cats eye, ngc7662 the blue snowball, ngc6960 the viel nebula, ngc2022 (one of my favorite), ngc2392 the eskimo nebula, ngc3242 the ghost of jupiter, ngc2438 inisde of m46 (kill two birds with one view).

Those should keep you busy for a while.
I wouldn't use very high power on most of these. Maybe 75 to 120. Except ngc2022 pull an Emeril on it "kick it up a notch".

Keep in touch let me know if I can help.

MASP...And a good time was had by all...

Posted By Bill Webster

I don't recognize the faces but the scope looks familiar.
I agree, MASP was very well run. And almost completely by volunteers. Some of the Raleigh Club was there also.

Do blame the telescope because you eyes donot work as well as a camera.
