Secular Quote for the Day

Posted By John Hopkins

That's pretty good, but I have a different Churchill quote as my favorite (although I realize not on-topic):

Lady Astor: "Winston, if you were my husband, I'd poison your coffee."
Churchill: "Nancy, if you were my wife, I'd drink it."

Actually Carl is a friend of mine

So the gripe is about anal retentiveness, except he chides us about not knowing the difference between two brands of mirrors.

Your dog wants a thingy.

Controller for a CG-5...Necessary?

Posted By John Hopkins

The new version CG5-DX has go-to, if that's what you're talking about. I liked it not for go-to but just for the convenience of motors. I'm a lunar guy and it's easier to press a button than constantly working the slo-mo controls.

...Which is probably why they have motors for the old version as well, because people like little conveniences.

As for finding one, try here:

Been reading a few of these posts...

Boy! it's gotten downright nasty in here of late!
It may sound bad, but it's nothing compared to other places. The link below is typical of when a religious subject comes up on Fark.com:

What are we celebrating?

Posted By John Hopkins

This is supposed to
be an American holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ

Christmas is American??

In other news, Christianity is obviously a far cry from sweeping Japan. Just imagine the outcry if the following advertisement had been put up in the USA:
