Bad Focuser

My 6" newtonian came with a 1.25 R&P focuser. There is quite a bit of anoying "waggle" in this focuser. I would like to replace it with a crawford style focuser. I see many 2" crawfords, but havn't seen a 1.25" one.
1. Does anybody know of a source for 1.25" crawfords?
2. Would putting a 2" on my scope obstruct too much of the light path, thereby reducing contrast to an unacceptable level?

I have been researching focusers. I note that some come with motors, and some can be upgraded with a motor. Why would you want a motorized focuser?

Wikipidea (the place I go to find out what all these words mean) seems to insinuate that an APO would be required for CCD imaging, but not neccesary for visual observation. Is this correct? Can you really see the difference with your own eyes?

Binocular Mount

Hi,

In my Orion catalog for the "Paragon-Plus™ Binocular Mount & Tripod" the description says "for binoculars up to 80mm". Mine are 80mm, should I worry that this is the upper limit of the mount capability? Any other recomendadtions?

Auto Guiding

Hi

I have been enjoying this hobby for about 1yr now. Everything is still new and exciting. I have seen some advertisements about Auto Guiding. The thing is, advertisers or sellers don't really explain how this works. Can someone tell me in simple terms what this is and how it works, or point me to a website or book?

Hi,

I have seen advertisements for "equatorial platforms for your dob". Since I live at 43 degrees, wouldn’t this mean that the ground board of my dob would be tilted at 43 degrees? How does that work?
