Mewlon 300 vs. 203mm refractor

Posted By Mark Clegg

Hello ,

I'm a first time poster and currently own a 5.2" triplet refractor. I am considering a Mewlon 300 for my next scope. Question, can anyone compare for me the views seen in a Mewlon 300 vs. a 203mm refractor (deep space, lunar and planetary).

Thanks

Mark

Time Out....Time Out....Time Out

Posted By Mark Clegg

I don't know about everyone else but for the past few months I have been watching many football games, college and professional and I hate the fact that coaches can call a last second timeout (last fraction of a second time out) to anticipate a snap call and disrupt a play at the end of a game.

Maybe the coaches have the right to do so, but putting an official in the position of listening to or looking for a time out call while observing the football and trying to determine whether a snap is in progress is almost impossible.

Guess that's where the replay system can help.

This activity cost the Baltimore Ravens the game last night.. Baltimore had them stopped on fourth down late in the game, but a last (fraction of a second) timeout was called by their coaches, negating the play.. Glad to see this gamble can work the other way too.

Go Pat's

Hello,

This is my first attempt at Mars using my TEC200 f/9 and the Toucam 840. This photo was taken at approx. f/40 on 12-27-07. Seeing was about 5 of 10 in very heavy dew conditions.

Mars with TEC 200 APO.. and a misplaced AVI. file

Posted By Mark Clegg

Back in Dec. 2007, I posted my first Mars image taken with my TEC200 f/9 using a Toucam Pro 840. Conditions were pretty good that night, with times of excellent seeing.. although very heavy dew conditions were present. Nonetheless, I was happy with the outcome.

Recently I was doing some "spring cleaning" on my laptop hard drive and came across a couple of AVI files that had somehow been saved to a different folder than I normally use as a destination. These AVI's were taken during that same evening, but with a different configuration within the ArcSoft software. After reviewing the files, I realized they had promise and processed them... See the attachment for the results.
