Hello, I just bought an 8 inch F/6.3 LX200. The stock 18v power supply keeps blowing fuses. I tried a 12v and that does not blow fuses. Also, the hand controller will not initialize. It will light up and only reads Meade on the read out. It is 3.2 version. Any ideas why the 18v blows fuses and will the 12v that seems to work be enough to power the scope? Any ideas about the controller only lighting up and not slew or initialize?

I have a main board that I think is fried. A capacitor was replaced and now it does not blow fuses when powering up. However, the hand controller only says meade. The scope is not initializing. I placed an ad for a main board. Mine is dated 04/93 and has the 3.34 version chips. One of the processors is pretty warm to the touch and another is cold. Chips are cold as well. Can a different version board be used? What would the difference be between what I have and a board from 1992 with 2.5 version chips? Can you put different chips in?
