Posted By Ronald Wroblewski

I know of the "updating" of Astromart website.

This message is only to assist in the changes that are being made to improve the site.

The problem I started having today was a security pop-up with EVERY left click of the mouse at the website.

The message is... "Internet Explorer has blocked this website from displaying content with security certificate errors".

-"Some content on the webpage was being delivered using a faulty certificate. Security certificate problems might indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any information you send to the website or server. You can click the Information bar to display the content (not recommended). For more information on certificate errors, click the Information bar, then click What's the risk."

I'm running Win XP Pro with Internet Explorer 8.

Ad Links

Posted By Ronald Wroblewski

To view a full Ad you click on a Category, (ex. Eyepieces) then click
on the individual Ad to view the full Ad.
If you then want to view another Ad under “Eyepieces” you first must
click out of that Ad and back into the “Eyepieces” category listing,
and then click on the next Ad in the Eyepiece category you want to
fully view. And so on….

In the “Forum”, when in the Topic threads, you are able to go thru
all of the threads in that Topic while remaining in that Topic using
the < Prev & Next > links near the top.

Would it feasible to have these links put in place for each full Ad
in the Classified Ads?
Ex. < Previous -Back to Listing- Next >

The “Back to Listing” is already in place at the bottom of each full Ad.

This would allow us the option to run through all of the complete
Ad’s in the Category, if desired, without having to exit and return
for each full Ad we want to view.

I’m satisfied with what we have. It works.
Just thought this addition may be of help.

Question about classifieds listing

Posted By Ronald Wroblewski

Hi Thomas,

This "Location" feature is available.

On left side of Astromart page under "Classifieds" click "Display Preferences".
Under "Classifieds" put a check mark in "Sellers Location" box.

Auction bidding ????

Posted By Ronald Wroblewski

Hi John,

The other bidder is not continually bidding against you as you bid.
He has made a initial "high" bid rather than entering a bid each time someone else does.
This will continue till you get above that persons initial bid.
Also, his "high" bid may not be needed for him to win the auction if no other bidder gets to that amount.

Hope this helps.

Which is Better?

Posted By Ronald Wroblewski

Hi Louis,

Present your item for sale in a new ad.
This is the easiest way for a potential buyer to view your item.
To copy, paste, & click about to just get a look is just a turn off to some people.

Why are ad deleltions allowed?

Posted By Ronald Wroblewski

Billy, I believe Terry is referring to “completed sales”, not those listed “for sale” in the classified’s.

“I ask because I have seen several sellers go to great lengths to delete any records of their sales..and ratings.”

I would tend to agree with Terry’s position. I think the more info about the seller should make the prospective buyer more confident to deal with him, which in turn should be helpful to the seller for a quicker sale.

I really didn't know a completed sale Ad could be deleted.

Do the written comments in “rating received” also get deleted if the seller deletes the Ad?

Why don't i get messages in my mail box... how do

Posted By Ronald Wroblewski

Hi Jeff,

Responding to Ads gets your message sent (emailed) by Astromart to the seller.
With the sellers email response to you, all further correspondence is via direct email between you two.

If you go to a posted Ad, then click on the sellers name, their profile will be displayed.
Below their name, location, etc. will be a clickable link to “Send a private message to this user”
Using this, your message will show up in that persons “Message Inbox”.
If he replies to your message it will be sent to your “Message Inbox”.

Hope this helps,

Pointers to an auction

Posted By Ronald Wroblewski

Hi Larry ,

I can’t find the rule (Terms of Service) governing the posting of a AD in multi categories at the same time.
I don’t believe you can do this.

I believe if you were to post your AD in one category (auction) today, and post it in “software” the next day, “vintage” the third day, that you would be doing so within the rules.

Someone else may chime in with a more definitive answer to your question.

If not, give it a try as stated above and see if the AD’s “stick”.
