Changing Profile Picture

Posted By Louis Busby

Hi William,

Go to the leftside menu to My Account. Click on Account Menu at the bottom of the My Account box. Under General -- click on My Profile. In the Upload New Pic box, type in the location of the pic you want to use or click the Browse Button to find it. Sometimes if your image size is to large, it will be rejected. If that happens, try resizing and then repeat the process.

Losmandy folding HD tripod

Posted By Louis Busby

As an alternative, I use a Binoscope folding tripod for my gear. I like it because it is stable, can support a lot of weight, and I can rotate the mount with telescope attached for accurate polar alignment. Folds easily and is also easy to transport.

TOA-130s focuser

Posted By Louis Busby

Yes. I just did a retrofit with my TOA130s. The 4" TOA focuser screws right on where the 2.7" focuser did without loss of collimation. When you order one from TNR be sure to ask for a TOA130F data plate with you current serial number. Art will include it with the focuser for free. I also recommend you get the microfocuser as well and let TNR install it for you before they ship.

Mewlon 250 Collimation

Posted By Louis Busby

M250s can and do fall out of collimation. For the most part they stay in collimation after reset and hold it very well, even when jostled during movement or shipping. My recommendation is to talk to Fred at TNR. He can talk you through the collimation process and even send you some graphics to help you visualize the process. The M250 is easy to collimate and it can be done in the daylight. Once you learn how, it becomes second nature. Seriously, talk to Fred before you try it, or you'll be very upset with yourself.

Benefit of upgrading FS-128 to TOA-130

Look in the refractor reviews section:
This is a comparison between a TOA150 and an FS152. This should give an idea.

There is also a review for just the TOA130:http://www.astromart.com/articles/article.asp?article_id=563
