Wouldn't ya know?

Posted By Chuck Cunningham

I live in Seattle, which has to be one of the most frustrating places on earth for astronomers. The street light in front of my house has been burned out since Halloween. Want to guess how many clear nights we have had since then? When I reported it like a good citizen, the City said they might not be able to get around to fixing it right away (aww, too bad). Want to guess when we'll get some clear weather again?

This is hardly new. For a long time it was the Republicans who were the part of rigid solidarity (at least in public). Wasn't it Will Rogers who said, "I Don't Belong To Any Organized Party: I'm A Democrat."

"why the Republicans do not fry they guy"

Perhaps the issues are a little to close to home for the Repubs to want to draw attention to them.

"first black President "

Jim, you did it again. Why is this so important to you?

You'd really rather see the country crash and burn than have to admit you were wrong? Some might think that was un-American.

Re: Post-partisan era - NOT

So you don't find it a little difficult to believe that every single Republican in the House independently arrived at the decision to vote against the stimulus? It takes two sides to be bipartisan. If they prefer to be obstructionist...oh well. I would welcome thoughtful input from either side of the House, but this is clearly just stonewalling.

"dream of having the first black President"

You seem to be really hung up on this. You just can't comprehend that this is not why we voted for him, can you? If a "black President" is really all we wanted, we could have had Jesse years ago.

"Obama's plans will do more harm than doing nothing."

I think that's just about what Herbert Hoover said. Apparently a few people still believe him.

Only people like you think that anyone really believed "that by simply having the first black President we would instantly be in a post racial era." Just like Brown v. The Board of Education put an end to Racism in America. It will be alive and well as long as people like you keep doing your bit.

What? Russia doesn't think that rampant Socialism is a good thing?
