Harry Siebert Eyepieces

Posted By Ivan Gastaldo

I was wondering... how good are they really???
I never had a chance to look through one of them, and I'm kind of afraid of buying one just to find out they are not as good as they should...
I already checked Excelsis.com for reviews, and seems they are OK, but then again, most of those votes don't seem to have much weight...
Anybody here has any experience with any of them?
I was particularly interested in the 2" Wide Angle Eyepieces, like the 7mm, 10mm & 12.5mm...

Thanks & Clear skies!

Ivan.

You're not "seriously" asking people to hand over their "legal" serial numbers, aren't you???
I sure hope not!

WSP was just incredible!

Posted By Ivan Gastaldo

Well.... what can I say, besides WOW!!!!

This was my first Star Party, and it's been an incredible experience...

I stayed from Monday through Friday, and had all 4 nights of viewing, enjoying every single second of it!

I got to log several objects, probably from 150-200 (still have to organize my notes, but mostly Messier & Caldwell), and tried to collect as many as I could, knowing that going back home, the Light Pollution would not allow me to wiew them again...

I would roughly estimate about 500-600 people, and about 3/4 of that number for scopes... just unbelievable!

I got to meet several people, made some good friends, and enjoyed viewing through several different scopes, getting a good feeling for what they can offer...

All in all, this has been something that I'll remember for life, and I'll make sure to see you all next year, if God lets me...

Clear dark skies my friends!

Hello Art!

Does this RING happens when you are perfectly focused on the object?

Terrorism...

Posted By Ivan Gastaldo

I've been reading all the posts, and some make sense, some don't, but it's a free country and we're all entitled to them...

I normally stay away from politics, since to me they all are a "game of lies", and nobody here really knows the reasons "WHY" we are going to war with Iraq..., we can guess, but we do not know 100% the facts.

My main concern though, specially when we go after a Middle East country, is the Terrorist Threat that's opened or increased dramatically after this happens...

I've been living in the US for the past 15 years now, have a family, have a good job, and things are going just fine... I love this place!

But I was born in Peru, in 1965, and for several years we suffered from attacks from diverse terrorist groups, and let me tell you, this is something YOU DON'T WANT IN YOUR OWN BACKYARD!!!
We had lots of people killed every week, by bombings, shootings... whole families assassinated, a terrible thing to live through...

United Stated is a beautiful country, but at the same time, it is so big, and everything that happens here is so huge, terrorism would not have a problem infiltrating and causing major pain & damage... THIS IS MY MAIN CONCERN...

Sorry for the long post, I'm just really concerned about everyone's safety... people that have not lived in a terrorist ambient have no idea of what it is like... it is a terrible thing to have at home...

Take good care of yourselves & your families, my friends...

Photo Processing?

Posted By Ivan Gastaldo

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I could not find any trace of older ones...

I'm trying to get as much info as I can before I jump into the "CAMERA" bandwagon...

Who do you all use for Film Developing once you are done taking your shots? I know of some places like Walmart, Ritz Camera, Wolf Camera, Eckerd's, etc, etc... but is there one better than the other?
Or should I look for a more "specialized" shop?

Thanks for your input,

MOGG Webcam Adaptors or similar...

Posted By Ivan Gastaldo

Anybody knows where to find these adaptors?

I've been referred to the Webcaddy Website (in Australia?), but it seems to be down... anybody knows of another source for these or anything similar?

I'm trying to get an "already made" adaptor for a Webcam, instead of cooking myself one...
