See, this is exactly what I was talking about a few weeks ago. Trump's nomination is his to lose, and he really can't F it up given the number of Richards in the GOP today. Trump will be wiped out on the electoral map by Biden. It will not be close at all IMO. Dem's are celebrating tonight seeing Godzilla jolted with electricity yet again, and they are ecstatic about him laying waste to the GOP.

It is not up to Trump to prove anything, only to defend himself and the mindset it takes to make such statements implying guilt where none has been proven is antithetical to the very foundation this country rests on.

Rich nor I said anything even remotely implying you cannot be indicted for a crime and you know it. Trump may well be guilty of something (most people are given the sheer volume of laws on the books) however the glaringly obvious political motivation on display with this whole thing is mind blowing.....

Greg, you, and obviously Jim, know that this is exactly how our system works. A jury will decide if the prosecution has proved their case, not whether Trump proves his innocence.

I'll be more surprised than you for purely political reasons.  If this turns out like you think it will, and nothing significant sticks after a due and proper examination of the charges, Trump will be strengthened.  At the end of the day, if this does turn out to be just a political witch hunt, then Trump's enemies have made it far more likely that he is elected president in '24.  Are they that stupid or that strategically tone deaf?  Could be, but I doubt it.  I think Bragg knows the political risk and would not have obtained the indictment unless he thought he could get a major conviction and put Trump in jail.   The downside risk is too great.

Time will tell of course.

setting up another true constitutional crisis. What happened if Trump is a felon and is still the GOP nominee? Of course DeSantis will allow him on the FL ballot, regardless of the law. How many other states will?

This is all just bollox. Moral equivalent of Clinton lying in a deposition about sex.

On a much brighter note, I watched a little faux news to get their spin, and was extremely happy to hear Pompeo give a full-throated defense of Ukraine and our support of them and NATO, harsh.y condemning Putin. My God, has it come to this that this isn’t a given in the GOP…
