IC443 wide field with Sky90/ST-10XE

Posted By Chris Hetlage

Hi Ron, I agree, I think this looks great for only 50min. Could only improve with more data! How do you like your Sky90? I've been looking at this or an FS78 to piggyback on my AP130 for wider field images.

Re: Using a wireless system instead of laptop??

Posted By Chris Hetlage

I would hope that someday there will be industry standard for wireless devices. Bluetooth seems to be the leader at this point, but I have not seen a Bluetooth USB extender (yet!). Anyone out here seen one?

At the same time it would be nice if our telescope/camera vendors would take note and also standardize their products for better integration. It also seems to me that SBIG, or some camera maker, would integrate/automate a color wheel, autofocuser, flash memory, and autoguider (and while they are at it just integrate in CCDSoft also). Basically a point and shoot astro-camera! But then how much fun would that be? Think about it...

Hi Brian, interesting mosaic. That is a satellite passing in front of M42. If you have a copy of TheSky it can tell you the name of the sat or you can use Heavens Above. Here is one I took last fall.

need an opinion or two...

Well done Andrew! You certainly have captured a winner here. You may want to lower the black point on your levels slightly and maybe a small bit of unsharp mask. I like the star as is and am not sure there is anything you can do about it anyway.

Cool!

Chris
