TAO 130 Benchtest

Posted By Markus Ludes

update of my test:

I thought 2 hours are enough to do cool down for the 5" to do the benchtest, espacialy , because outside its now much cooler than in our testing room.
But now after 4 hours laying down on the bench , I found that it cooled down extremly long. Now after 4 hours the undercorrection increase and it shows now only around 1/4 wavefront p.t.v. , way worser than the image was after 2 hours cooling. It seems this large airspace really take very long time , so for real critical observers, either such a scope should be permantly in its observatory building, or you must give him real long time for cooling to get the last photon out of it.

Nobody have them in stock, because only showpieces have been produced so far. The production is not available yet from any dealer in the world. First runs will come by around end of July, as pentax Europe claims

but of course you can place your order now and wait

Folded Refractor Light Loss ???

Posted By Markus Ludes

if you buy a 6"F/15 achro, add the cost for a nicely made foldet tuibe and addiding the cost of 2 real 1/20 wave mirrors ( ouch very expensiv e) you will end close to the price of a commercial available 6" apo

This is the third email I have sent asking about this eyepiece! What is the price in US dollars shipped to Florida, USA ? Also, I had asked how to pay by credit card from US to Germany?

If you do not make this eyepiece any more, at least let me know so I can quit sending emails. If you don't care to sell such a small-dollar item, then tell me so. I am tired of sending emails and getting no response. This does not look good for APM to do this.
