Any opinions of the war itself aside, by exercising poor judgment and setting himself up to be used as a propaganda item by an enemy regime, he ceased to be a working asset and transformed himself into serious liability for his employer. Under such circumstances termination of employment is appropriate, IMHO.

Interesting, if you answer 'strongly agree' to all the statements you land well inside the authoritarian camp, and slightly right of center.

Life's Basic Purpose

Posted By Paul Kammueller

Been thinking about the meaning of life. :-)

Seems to me that life, in the most general scope, through the development, replication and modification of DNA, etc. seems to be a basic form of information accumulation, modification, and preservation and it redirects energy in a fashion to serve this end.

I find that interesting. I'm going somewhere with this, just give me a few minutes to get there.

Stocks - breakout, or next leg down?

In case any of my fellow astronomers find charts interesting, I personally find trend analysis interesting (this is a highly complex form of analysis that can be done by anyone who can draw a straight line with a ruler).

The nasdaq just bumped off the top of its 3-year-long downtrend channel on the logarithmic scale. If it gets to a new high at all from this point, it could mark the end of the bear market on a trend-channel basis. If it fails, well...
