Prosecutor Fitzgerald could send Obama to jail

Posted By Paul Kammueller

So to put it in a nutshell, the best you can do is: 'rumors' of some extremely vaguely described 'sweetheart deal' mortgage? No numbers, no records? No quantification, or documentation, or actual substance to this rumor of any kind whatsoever?

I think we're done here. wink

Harlem Voters

2.) Will they be offset by Racist who won't vote for Obama because he's black.
They will, by leaps and bounds and orders of magnitude. The numbers just don't compare. The race vote is clearly a McCain advantage.

If you subtract the proportion of black voters expected to vote for McCain from those who voted for Bush in 2004, then further subtract the shift you would expect just from increasing unpopularity of the republican party due to current events, you get maybe a 3-5% max of that vote attributable to race-based effects rather than due to other democratic leanings in the demographic. Given that this minority constitutes about 13% of the population, that means that if 0.6% of the white vote is race-based then they roughly null each other out. If 1% or more of the white vote is overtly race-based, they will completely swamp the opposing race-based effect.

Race-based vote advantage: McCain.

Obama and ACORN Linked!

The king of cut-and-paste is back... grin

Soooo, we've got basically material from last January, and the rantings of some shrill blogger who cutely juxtaposes pics of Obama with the likes of Josef Stalin and Saddam Hussein, which usually pretty much tells us how seriously we can take this stuff.

Is it time for Atlas to Shrug?

Is it time for those of us who actually work, earn, create companies, products and services... and who are continually taken advantage of, continually and increasingly taxed (at the point of the government gun)...

to simply say: "you are right, being rich is evil, earning money is evil, so we quit, we earn no more, we employ no more..."

and quit playing their game?
Oh brother. Being wealthy and/or is not a charity operation. If you want to stop being wealthy and cut off your own nose to spite your face that's your business. If you want to get out of the rat race there's always someone who will replace you. Such voids have a way of getting filled.

And tax isn't punishment, it isn't a tool for telling what is or isn't evil. It's a tool for funding government operations. If you like roads, learn to live with taxes. If you like wars like Bush's adventure in Iraq, then you should absolutely love taxes and be begging to pay more.

Being rich doesn't make anyone evil, it makes them rich - which means quite simply that they are better able to pay with less pain than someone less rich. It's really just as simple as that. Tax isn't punishment or something to tell you you're bad. It is what it is.

Colin Powell for Obama. David Brooks of the WSJ:

"Republicans can either attack Colin Powell or look at it as a symptom of what is wrong with the Republican Party".

They will choose the attack option. Within 24 hours the blogosphere and this board will be filled with posts claiming that Colin Powell is a closet marxist-communist who pals around with terrorists and eats babies for breakfast.

There will be a massive, desperate campaign to discredit Powell and swiftboat his whole career history in the military. It will NOT be pretty to watch.

U.S. beats out Mexico & Turkey -

Well, better than Mexico. Looks like we're on par with Turkey. Should lay to rest the persecution complex that wealthy folks have about "wealth redistribution".

It's Official: It's a Cult

Another fine work of art in Josef Stalin propaganda poster style.
Oh brother - here we go again with the McCarthy-ism, the Russians are coming the Russians are coming! ROTFL. This self-defeating effort to try to cast Obama into Stalin is really just sad to watch -- So let's see what makes it a 'cult' in your eyes, is it :

1) that somebody made a big picture, or
2) just that Obama is popular?

Even Russia Sees It-- MSM Openly Supports Obama

A preliminary report obtained by the Russian daily online newspaper Kommersant concludes the U. S. television networks devoted more time to Republican candidate John McCain, but "the material that makes up that time difference can be assessed as negative."
That's because the McCain campaign has spent too much of its campaign trying to be a forum on Barack Obama. It's cost them, surprise surprise. The news outlets can't help it if this is all the campaign will give them to chew on.
The Russian study also said Sarah Palin, the Republican vice-presidential pick, has been subjected to more criticism than her Democratic counterpart, Senator Joe Biden.
Well come on. For criticism there's just a lot more material on Palin. Frankly the media has been overly generous with her, ignoring her historical connections with political fringe groups. She's getting a free pass on stuff that any dem would be openly crucified for.

It adds that when the presidential candidates' platforms are described, Mr. Obama's is described last, to make it look better, and when platforms are compared, "Obama's is presented preferable."
Where were they able to find media coverage of Obama's platform? The media coverage I've seen has been just months and months of Ayers and Rev. Wright, while they refuse to examine Palin's fringe element connections and McCain's history in the S&L scandal.

I'm surprised you put so much stock in Russian political opinion. Is this how far you have to run to find people who agree with you? wink This is a transparent effort by Russian authorities simply to criticize the U.S. election process since we've done the same towards them at times.

I voted

Posted By Paul Kammueller

I went at about 7:05am -- line was out the door to the end of the block and halfway down the side of the block. Definitely a record turnout for this location, but inside the building things were arranged much more efficiently than last time and there were plenty of volunteers: it only took 30-40 minutes from taking my place in line to leaving.

A co-worker in another part of town had a 1 1/2 hour wait.
