B&W mars

First run with the DMK21f04 camera. I also captured color data from Toucam and will post results tomorrow. Seeing was 2/5-3/5 so I think even better results are possible.

I took the DMK21f04 mono data posted earlier and added the color data from a Toucam. Luminance was taken with Baader IR pass filter and the Toucam was IR blocked.

Stellacam question

Posted By Joe Baldwin

Does the Stellacam integrate for some period of time to achieve its sensitivity or does it simply average a number of 1/30 sec video frames?

Re: Antares RACI

The bad:
finder bracket too sloppy - borderline useless
cross hairs would not focus, required disassembly
parallax
gobs of coma

The good:
$99
RACI finders are the only way to fly

Blu-ray or HD-DVD?

Moving up to HDTV. This looks like the Beta vs. VHS race all over again. Either of these formats a clear winner yet?
