Lost feedback

Posted By Kenneth Pauling

Prior to 2014, I was active in buying and selling on this site. I had several positive feedback ratings. Suddenly, all my positive feedback from the people I dealt with disappeared. What happened? How do I get these back? I am an honest reliable person to deal with, but my ratings don't reflect my history. HELP!

Call Paypal and follow their directions and rules for a claim. They will protect you if you follow their rules for claims in a timely manner. Good Luck! PS They helped me once.  Ken

Lost Ratings? All of my feedback gone!

Posted By Kenneth Pauling

Same thing happened to me. A few years ago I made a ONE TIME LIFETIME payment to Astromart that was for LIFETIME membership to their Classifieds. Next thing I know, LIFETIME memberships are gone! I MUST BE DEAD! Astromart changed their memberships to YEARLY. After this change, my ratings were PURGED! I guess LIFETIME memberships like LIFETIME Warranties are only as good as the company making those promises.

How to remove a rating

Posted By Kenneth Pauling

I can only tell you how my ratings were removed. When the "one time lifetime subscriptions" stopped and Astromart started to require everyone to subscribe and pay each year, I got mad and refused to pay because I was not dead!(first time I ever got mad because I was not dead) Lifetime to me means UNTIL YOU ARE DEAD. So I didn't pay for a year or so and then decided to rejoin. I paid my new yearly fee and all my ratings were gone! No way to get them back. So, my experience tells me for you to just stop your membership by not paying for a while and when you rejoin, all your ratings should be gone. Good Luck! (Just my experience.) I am HAPPY I am still alive but now know lifetime memberships don't last as long as you think!

Portable scope for BOTH Terrestrial and Celestial viewing and simple photography

Posted By Kenneth Pauling

You would think after 50+ years of casual use of both reflectors and refactors choosing a new multipurpose scope to see and photograph nature would become easier. It has not. I am looking for other people's input as to what affordable scope gives the best "bang for the buck" That can be used for photography or viewing wildlife or used for Astronomy. i sold my 1980's Ultima 8 and other reflectors. My Swarovski vintage 80mm spotting scope for wild life observation is not the best to turn on the heavens or take photos. What portable choices are available for multipurpose uses? What are others using? Is this an impossible hunt?

Portable scope for BOTH Terrestrial and Celestial viewing and simple photography

Thanks for all who replied to my post. Each reply has helped a lot. Any other comments or suggestion will be greatly appreciated! One comment peaked my interest about mounts and tripods. " there are some smaller to moderate size wise mounts available that operate in both EQ and ALT-AZ mode that have tracking which would lend themselves to both astro imaging and wildlife observing/imaging available."( thank you Greg Shaffer) I would love to know what these are and maybe pair them with a small scope around 127 or 150 mm in size. Moderate price is around $1500.00 or less. Not looking for a big heavy scope or major investment.

Portable scope for BOTH Terrestrial and Celestial viewing and simple photography

Thanks again for everyone's input and interest. i am now evolving in my interest and instead of buying a new C5 or something similar, maybe a 8 inch computer guided used scope with tripod. Which one of these 8 inch scopes be best used for multiple purposes?
