Assuming that I receive my telescope before I die, can we toss around some mounting options that are likely to work well with this scope. I guess that I will go for polar mounting so that I can do some imaging. Does anyone have a few recommendations on reasonably priced (whatever that means) mounts?

I guess it depends on what you want...

if you want a really quick grab and go then Bill has a nice graphite tripod that will work great with the 102..

Others were going with the cg5 that anacortes had on for 249.00

Peter,

The Apogee HD is probably the best deal right now on Chinese mounts at $159. I just bought a used set of dual drives for it for $80. It's as good as any of the GP clones.

I have an EQ-3 that ought to handle a 102 F6. It was marginal with the 120mm F8.3 Orion refractor but if I keep it low it should be OK. I would really like to use it ALT-AZ, I have a Bogen 3051 Tripod that could handle it but I don't have a head that will hand the weight and be stable at higher powers.
