Now William Optics is announcing a 90MM...I'm assuming this is the start of new round of 90MM scopes that may appear from several other manufacturers...will we FINALLY break the 80MM stranglehold.

Why doesn't the 100ED f/9 count as breaking the 80mm barrier?

Aye-Carumba! How will we tell the brands apart? their "Co-Designed" names will be different? New "limited edition" anodizing colors?

I used to feel pretty current with various manufacturers offerings, the lens designs, the sources of their optics, but things are getting out of hand. I saw some pictures of Baader?Scopos? OTA this morning which looked identical to the WYO tubes... or was it the Apogee Inc tubes... Or was it both?

And how many different models of 80mm optics are being fitted into these scopes? 1? 2? 4? 7? I have no idea. Am I not paying enough attention, or is there generally confusion about this?

The 6" CR150 achromatic Synta world was easy to understand: They come in orange, black, blue, or yellow OTA. Is this new world of 66mm and 80mm tubes just as clearcut?
