Here is how we were observing some spectacular Solar activity this past week at Chiefland Star Party. We we amazed at how spectacular the little Solarmax 40 did even compared to the AS1-90. The wait for the Coronado filter is well worth it.

Boy, I thought about the 90 - it would screw right into my lens cell sans adapter plate - but I was afraid I'd wind up divorced. Not a concealable outlay.......

I too can attest to the Solarmax against the AS1-90. Other than the the image scale and the corresponding detail on the AS1-90, I don't think the Solarmax gave up too much at all...which got me thinking,
Hey Mark, with my TMB/Mewlon dual mount Giro set-up, what is your opinion of the Solarmax on the refractor and a Baader filter on the Mewlon for solar observing and what would I need? (the 60 and 90 is a bit too expensive for me)
