At 11:00 AM CDT...I just came in from viewing the sun in white light, and in H-alpha. Sunspot 1117 is very cool in white light, lots of intricate detail. I can see 1117 with the naked eye (through my sun filter of course), so it is huge. There is very tall, straight prominence on the limb in H-a, maybe 1/8 of a solar diameter tall!
