Anyone using the Takahashi FM40 focusing device? I am looking for an alternative to knife-edge for my Mamiya 645 and Nikon FM3. The FM40 was suggested, but I can't find any locate any info on it.

The FM-40 is the smaller brother of the FM-60. The FM-40 has a range of about 40x to 55x and the FM-60 is goes to about 72x. Yes they are variable. You will need a larger ground glass as well. I pick a bright star, focus and lock that's it for the evening.
