Marring the Chrome draw tube

Hi Gang,
I,ve had a few Televues.Sometimes the drawtube will slide when pointing the scope up high.By tightening the lock screw a little you can get slight maring or scratches on the chrome drawtube. Is that common and I just live with it.

Thanks, Dave

I replied to this on the 3rd but it doesn't seem to be on the list , yet it is under my profile.....strange. Anyway here it is again.

Hi Dave
I have a TV101 and mine drifts back with a load. With my binoviewer in it I have to tighten it down pretty good but it hasn't left marks in the draw tube...yet.

I have two TeleVue scopes, and I haven't experienced the problem that you describe.

One thing that I have noticed about TeleVue focusers is that some have linear striations along the chrome drawtube. I'm not sure what would cause this, perhaps dust?
