Does anyone know the total number of 34mm Abbes Zeiss made in the last 20 years or so? I found one and am hoping to locate its twin for binoviewing and am curious what I am up against. Thank you!

Not sure. When the ZAO's were produced in 1997 it was advertised that there were 400 sets produced. However, the 34 was an option, not part of the basic set, so if the 400 number is correct the answer is somewhere less than that.
Not overly helpful, now that I re-read it. :S
It is a great binoviewing eyepiece, hope your search is successful. The superb contrast makes it a nice deep sky eyepiece, too, if the object fits in its smallish fov.
