Hi folks--this object has driven me nuts over the last couple of years trying to capture it in tri-color narrowband. This week I gave it another shot and got a bit closer than I have before in getting a shot I can live with (for now) :). I tried the tone-mapping method (thanks J-P from www.astroanarchy.com) and it seemed to work out better for me (at least on this object). My version: (Ha) SHO with Ha (enhanced with SII and OIII data) as a luminance layer. 100 mins Ha, 240 mins of SII, and 140 mins of OIII, all unbinned. Takahashi TOA130 with reducer, Tak NJP mount, ST10xme camera. Guided with a stellarvue SV70 and SBig remote guide head. 20 minute subs and the guide exposures were 4 sec. Imaged from my POD from Redlands, california oer the nights of Sept 17, 18, 2009. Imaged was captured with Maxim DL, and processed with Maxim DL and Photoshop CS3.
