Description

In a single shot in less than a second with an unsupported tripod I lucked out with this beautiful bird. Unwittingly, it was shot using spot metering, shutter priority at 1/320sec, f/7.6, iso 320, in a D2x with the 200-400VR lens at 400. A perfect setting as it turns out. There are two varieties of the western flycatcher and we are not certain which one this is, pacific slope or cordilleran. Our location being the Rockies we tend to suspect the former.
