You won't be seeing one of these for a good, long while!
This is an early 1987 Takahashi TFP0040; the 1st gen Quintuple Turret Revolver.
This is the one that holds the (3) or (4) .965-inch oculars and then can also hold (1) or (2) of the thread-in large erfles and orthos.
As it sits right now, this is configured for (4) .965-inch eyepieces and (1) large, thread-in erfle or orthoscopic.
But, I made this very nice for you and it will come with (2) additional 1.25-inch ocular holders! Yes, you can now use .965-inch, 1.25-inch, and a single thread in. And YES, this will come with the male threads required to mate the female threads on your thread-in large Tak eyepiece.
Also, you will get the 2-inch visual adapters well as the rare 2-inch-to-QTR adapter ring.
And finally, you get ALL (4) hard nylon Takahashi insignia thread-on dust caps for the (4) .965-inch ocular holders. These are difficult to find anymore.
So, now you can use the rare, vintage Takahashi eyepieces in the original, 1st gen QTR system on many of your current or past refractor systems; like the FC-100, FC-125, FS-152, even the FCT-150. This turret assembly is ALL TAKAHASHI and should have no problems attaching to your 100mm or larger Tak refractors.
I have not tested it on the TSC-225 or any of the Mewlons. It will not work with the MTs and Epsilons; those require the rare, TFP0030, which is the 4-barrel systems that does not use a prism.
Physical condition is perfect; the turret turns on command and "clicks-in" perfectly; holding steady and true. All ocular holders have perfect functions with their compression ring system. None are seized or wobble. Nowhere on any of this setup will you finds stripped threads, modifications, aftermarket pieces, or areas that require lubrication. This is a very smooth-operating Tak turret assembly.
The only non-Tak part to any of this is the black dust cap you see in the background; that is for the thread-on eyepiece port as I had no other way to cover it.
Cosmetics are very excellent for its age and as it sits. No chips, dings, or bad scratches to worry about. NO cracks to the dome. NO sunlight fading. The black .965-inch Tak dust caps are mixed in condition; some are great with contact marks and (2) of them are very excellent. NONE are cracked or have issues threading onto the male threads.
The prism is in great condition for its age, but not excellent. It has some light hairlines in the coating (not bad) and it will need to be cleaned at some point as it has dust, some tiny dew spots, and a haze that is a very light dust film on the bottom-face of the prism. The prism will work just fine right now as I have tested this in my FS-152SV. But, when you are going to venture out on those nights of legendary seeing with the grandest of vintage Tak Hi-Orthos in this QTR, you'll want this prism cleaner to maximize visual extraction on the Moon, Jupiter, Mars, ect. Once cleaned, this prism will be in excellent condition.
Weight of QTR with 2-inch visual ring and 2-inch visual adapter is exactly 1 pound 14 ounces.
All Takahashi collectors welcome to bid.
