Zeiss School Telescope

This is a Zeiss telescope from the mid 1950’s with a wonderful Zeiss AS 63/840 objective. The lens is a "Q1" first-quality selected unit with semi-apochromatic correction (chromatic aberration is reduced to about 75% of a Zeiss Telementor). The scope comes complete with the original mount and a wooden box which holds everything except the tripod.

The dew shield has suffered some little bumps and dings but works fine and does not look too bad. The scope has many minute little flaws but none are substantial. No dents. Overall the scope is in good cosmetic condition. The tripod shows its age but is still fully functional. The chains were added by me and could easily be removed. The objective has a little dust but no flaws and delivers a spectacular image. The helical focuser works great as you would expect from a Zeiss.

I made a 1.25 inch adapter for it which works perfectly. The star diagonal and eyepiece shown are for illustration only and are not part of this sale.
