RealSky Palomar Sky Survey North & South for Raspberry Pi and LINUX

With LINUX "get_dss" source code, Makefile and ELF 32-bit LSB executable for ARM; complete distribution for Debian LINUX and Raspbian GNU/Linux 9 (stretch) and earlier.

Provided on a 16GB ext4 thumb drive - does not include original CDROMs. Boxes shown for illustration only.

This is a port of the 100x-compressed RealSky Palomar Sky Survey North and South copied from the original 20-CDROM set to a 16GB  USB 2.0/3.0 thumb drive.   This distribution includes the command-line program "get_dss" which reads a simple text file of  J2000.0 RA, DEC and field size in arcminutes.   It generates FITS images of these fields in monochrome. See the attached sample images which are sized for my CCD (33 arc min square).   You must provide your own FITS reader/converter (Astropy, MicroObservatoryImage, etc.)

This distribution is lightning fast when run from the thumb drive or copied to your hard drive (12GB required).   This is a LINUX distribution and will not run on Windows nor Mac OS X (requires ext4 support because of the large number of inodes).  My instructions are provided for use under Raspbian or Debian LINUX.
