A superb lens for astrophotography. It has excellent
color correction, sharpness, and fast f-number. Aperture
is 89mm wide open. Stops are from 5.6 to 22. Glass is in
perfect condition. Includes Canon 95mm skylight 1x filter
in EC. Takes high contrast photos and also gives nice low
power views with an eyepiece. Original Canon caps.
This lens fits both FL and FD mount manual Canon bodies.
I have used it on EF, AT-l and AE-1 cameras. Requires the
older FL type for proper through-lens daylight metering,
but not an issue for time exposures. Use a separate meter
for daytime exposures with FD bodies if desired, or meter
the scene through an FD lens. Photo shows lens mounted on
an AT-1 body for scale. Body is not included, but if you
need a Canon body, I can provide one at additional cost.
Lens barrel has a rotating mount that accepts 1/4-20 or
3/8-16 screw thread. Finish is a bit scuffed and dull in
some places and the rubber sleeve on the focusing ring has
an inch-long split in it, but nothing serious. The iris is
clean, everything works fine mechanically, no dents, and
lettering still looks very good. No haze, no fungus, and
no oil on iris leaves.
