*** THIS HAS BEEN SOLD ***

This is a focal reducer that uses the glass from a Celestron #94175 f/6.3 reducer in a special barrel that fits inside any 2" focuser or other attachment tube. This reduces the spacing between the OTA and the camera by about 3".

To work with an SBIG AO-7 adaptive optics unit, a special shortened barrel puts the focal reducer 1/8" from the AO-7 T-thread adapter. Without this, it is impossible to reach focus with the AO-7 using a focal reducer. (The shortened barrel also works attached directly to the camera, without the AO-7.)

For more information on this reducer, Google on "ted agos reducer" and browse his Web site. The "6.3-FLR" hit will take you to Ted's site.

I bought this in August 2004, and used it for my fall imaging. Since then, I've decided to use an Optec 0.5 reducer for a wider FOV, so this one is for sale. It's in excellent condition, with some set screw marks on the barrel. The glass has a few dust specks, but otherwise is fine. I'm including the original Celestron reducer barrel, along with the original box and instruction sheet. What you see in the photo is what you get.

I'm asking $175 for this unit. (Celestron reducers go for about $100 here on Astromart, and Ted Agos charges $110 for the AO-7 short adapter tube.) I'll pay the shipping. PayPal is fine, but please add the 3% fee.

Thanks for looking.
