Celestron Axiom LX 31mm (Reduced)

Up for sale is a real unicorn, the Celestron Axiom LX 31mm. This is the same JOC-made eyepiece as the ES82/30, with a key difference: you can decloak this eyepiece to gain back a couple of mm of eye relief. This makes it THE 82° low power eyepiece for glasses wearers–more comfortable than either the ES82/30 or the 31T5 Terminagler. It also sheds a significant amount of weight, making it less of an ordeal to balance.

I've added a perfectly-fitting rubber eyecup, which increases the comfort for the four-eyed among us even further, as well as a cap. Both from Agena.

This is a wonderful eyepiece, my lifetime best view of Markarian's chain was through this behemoth. It's optically perfect. There is some minor wear along the nosepiece from set screws to be expected from an older eyepiece. There are some scratches on the little celestron logo discs that cover the screws that you access to decloak.

I can recloak it if you want, but I recommend against it. I'll include all screws and the appropriately sized hex key.
