I am the third owner of this Celestron CGEM Series mount, a German equatorial mount ideal for visual or photographic astronomy. I've owned the mount for about 3.5 years and have used it extensively for deep sky and planetary astrophotography with excellent results. With good polar and star alignment, the mount routinely achieves tracking within ±2 arc-seconds in both RA and Dec. I have used camera exposures up to six minutes with no visible star trailing or mount movement artifacts. I am selling the mount because I am shifting to a lighter harmonic wave mount to make it easier for me to travel to dark-sky sites.
The mount includes many upgrades and extras including an ADM dual saddle that can accommodate both Vixen and Losmandy D-style rails, a full ADM knob set, upgraded bearings and shims, Celestron SkySync GPS unit, Celestron polar scope (not visible in the photos), QHY CCD electronic polar scope with the CGEM Series mount adapter, NexStar hand controller with clip-on tripod leg mount, bubble level, 12V power cable (not shown in the photos), a 17 lb counterweight, and two 11 lb counterweights (not shown in the photos).
The tripod is included. It is a Celestron tripod with 2" diameter steel legs, ADM knobs, and the spreader/accessory tray.
Also included is the original Celestron-branded Pelican-style rolling case, with styrofoam and pluck foam interior. I'd prefer a local sale, but I'm willing to drive up to two hours in lieu of local pick up. Willing to discuss shipping in the continental US at buyer's expense.
