The mount has been in use for approx. 5 yrs, never a problem. The only thing these mounts requires is you need to periododically make adjustments to the mounts gear mesh distance and spring tension. The RA is the only adjustment that I have ever had to adjust, the Dec is fine. I can show you how to do it. It's not difficult. If the tension is not tight enough, the backlash will increase and you don't want that. Typically, the total error from PHD2 is around 1.00 or less, usually .85, which is very good even with a long focal lenght telescope.
