This is one of Takahashi's more unusual accessory plates and I have had the dickens of a time locating it in my vintage Takahashi catalogs. It predates the FS era and postdates the early Hospital Gray FC era...So I would date this right in the years of 1987-1990.
** The last (2) photos demostrates this plate correctly mounted on an EM-200 USD via the M-Plate underneath it **
What we have here is a 295mm x 159mm accessory plate and it would work on the EM-11, EM-100, EM-200, and the early NJP-160 (long before we see the Temma 2 emerge).
This plate does NOT attach directly to these mounts because it cannot. First, you Takahashi equatorial head will need either the M-Plate or the J-Plate (can be lime green era OR the hospital gray era). The very top of the EM euquatorial heads is a 2-bolt system with M8-1.25 bolts. So, once you have either of those plates mounted to your head, you can now use this plate here, which will allow MANY configurations with dual ring systems, side-by-side guide scopes, ect.
Originally, this plate was used to hold a 1987 Astro-Physics 5-inch f/9 to an EM-200 USD using Parallax Rings.
Physical condition is perfect. The plate is true in form with no dents, fractures, or chips to the aluminum. The (4) red-arrow holes are not original to this Takahashi plate and were made for the Parallax rings. ALL other holes, to include the (3) elongated, oval channels, are original to the design. The black paint is original and if you are an experienced, vintage Takahashi user, you will see the spackle texture on this paint will match the texture on your EM heads and focuser housings.
Comes with (4) #1/4-20 machine bolts, (4) #1/4-20 nuts, and (4) washers.
Made of solid milled aluminum.
Weighs exactly 2 pounds 5.0 ounces
Happy to ship to anyone on the planet.
