Clear, Dark California Skies

160 Acre observing site including flat mountain top (accessible by car) approximately 20 miles NE of SLO, CA; about 1 mile off state highway 58. The site borders the Las Padres National Forest. Highest Elevation ~2000 feet.

With a 17.5 inch DOB I have seen virtually every non-stellar object in The Cambridge Star Atlas from this site. The 2001 Leonids were breathtaking. Spending the winter solstice there for an all-night observing session is a "moving" experience! Omega Centuri easily visible w/naked eye near the southern horizon - the sky is dark!

I use this as my winter observing site, but my circumstances force its liquidation. $99,000 OBO. Photos on request.
