For sale is the new generation Nexdome with heavy duty cover, the latest dome rotation track and dual-sprocket shutter motor. All panels are in excellent condition, the motors work fine, and the unit tracks perfectly with my telescope. I have a C14 on an EQ8 mount and have no problem with clearance. Sold new this would be $3,895 for dome, $1200 for dome rotator motor, $1450 for shutter motor, and $240 for dome cover - a total of $6,785.
I will tell you that Nexdomes are quirky and my particular one never got reliable power for the shutter from the twin foil contacts that go around the dome. If you are not familiar with this feature, for the newer version Nexdome added a second shutter chain and sprocket and did away with the original system's shutter battery. Instead of a battery they use two tracks that run around the inside of the dome and supposedly keep constant power to the shutter motor. The two contacts on the dome (which I must admit are a piece of junk) are supposed to draw power from the energized tracks as the dome rotates. Mine never reliably worked and I was afraid that the bad connection would surge my shutter motor circuit board. So I built my own contacts that provide power to the shutter motor only when the dome is parked. If you want to go back to Nexdome's design, you'll need to buy a coil of the standard flat foil ($20) that runs around the dome interior, a piece of plastic about 3" x 3" x 1" and two eyebolts (Nexdome's power solution is not sophisticated or elegant!)
I also upgraded the dual chains that open the shutter. Nexdome uses this somewhat odd combination of sprockets and washers to guide the chain but another user fabricated a better chain guide with 3d printers and I installed those guides. Other than these modifications, my dome is as it came from the factory. I've read where some users had to drill their own holes to get the panels to line up. I was able to assemble mine using the factory holes.
I live in Northeast PA and if given enough notice can show it in operation and help disassemble it. I won't ship it.
